I Hate Low Capacity Washing Machines
When I first moved out I wasn't too concerned about the size of my washing machine as it was only me living in the house at the time. It wasn't too much hassle doing multiple loads of washing, usually only required when washing bedding or towels.
When I started living with my partner the 6KG capacity of the machine got old really fast. We ended up doing three of even four loads a week, which in itself isn't really a problem, but then you end up with so many baskets of washing to juggle around the drier that it turns into a nightmare.
I snapped one weekend and ordered a new machine with 10KG capacity. I possibly could have gone a little bigger but I didn't want to spend the earth since the machine is in an external garage, not an ideal location for the wellbeing of the machine.
It's bliss. You can jam in all the towels at once, or a whole set of bedding, as well as some clothing items. The size isn't quite as useful when you need to split down into whites as there are less of those but of course you can adjust the washing program accordingly.
Small washing machines, don't do it. 8KG as a minimum for anybody. I donated my old machine to a family member where it saved as an upgrade to their 4KG 1000rpm machine. I can't fathom using a machine that small, where a single towel almost fills it!
