I Hate the Bad Quality Screws That Come With Fixtures and Furniture
Too many times now I've bought some furniture or fixtures and made the mistake of trusting the crappy screws they come with, only for them to round out or snap. It's not worth the risk, so I now always throw included screws and wall plugs into the bin and use my own.
The worst situation I had was where I was fitting a doorstop onto a skirting board to prevent a door from banging into a radiator when opened. The screw rounded out both ways and my extraction attempts resulted in the damn head snapping off. I didn't want to remove the other three heads and risk the same thing happening again! The broken head meant it would be difficult to move the stop into a new position.
I think I ended up using a file or something to grind the head down to a point where it was low enough to not be visible or protrude..
Often see you reviews online where people are upset that something didn't include wall fixtures, but really, in these cases the manufacturers are doing you a favour by not including them as they would suck anyway!
