I Hate the WORX WG505E All-In-One Blower/Vac/Mulcher
My Bosch leaf blower met an untimely end when it disrespected me for the last time with the shitty safety sensor not engaging properly leading to random power loss, so I needed a new leaf vacuum.
My main priorities were that it was easy to clean and clear jams and that it was easy to attach and remove the nozzles to clear those jams. The WORX unit has a metal impeller (oooooh!) and the nozzles lever into place and secure with a bolt that is tightened. Perfect!
I receive it today and my first impressions are that it is a very cheap plastic feeling item. The switch to change between suck and blow is cheap and nasty, and the power on the blower is only a flap that you can adjust to obstruct the airflow. These are nitpicks though, as long as it is better to use than my old unit I would have been good.
Two jams in three minutes. It chokes if it picks up any thick twigs despite the metal impeller, totally jamming and making a horrible noise, and it also jams if the leaves are damp or thick. I think it would be okay with both of these things if route out from the impeller was straight, but everything it picks up is directed through a very narrow pipe with an angled opening, which of course adds more chance for things to get caught and cause an obstruction.
I'm going to try to return it as 'cack' or else I'll try and sell it on as barely used. Not sure of what excuse I'll think up as a reason for sale after using it for no more than a few minutes!
